Greetings our friends,
We can’t believe how fast the time flows when one is having so much fun! This year has been filled with all sorts of adventures and inspiration for us and we are planning on bringing that energy to the Elysium this year! So yes, we are in CREATION MODE! It is with pleasure that we present to you – The Elysium Midsummer Festival 2010 on July 16th through 18th at the La Jolla Indian Campground.
This year, we want to push even further in reinforcing the notion that evolution and change are the primary mechanisms that drive creativity. We have long struggled with the challenge of how to best support the music, the art, the projects, and the people that contribute so much to the enrichment of our lives. Whether that broadening of life experience happens at an event such as Burning Man or in a corner coffee shop, there are artists, entertainers, musicians, designers, and others that dedicate themselves fully to their craft and positively affect the human condition. Generally, these souls are humble in their ways and never ask for more than the appreciation and acknowledgment of their efforts. It is in this humility that our Elysium was born.
In line with our Mission, we have announced a new Elysium logo contest this year and it was an overwhelming success! It took us FOREVER to decide whose artwork resonated the most with the event because ALL OF THEM were fantastic and blew us away! We want to explicitly thank ALL the artists who contributed their art work to the contest and we will be displaying all of them at the event.
With that, we are proud to announce the winner of the contest:
Sandy Bagri, aka Sandbag.
We really feel that he beautifully captured the spirit of the event and channeled it into the new image.
CONGRATULATIONS SANDY!
As we continued with our mission to support all artists we have added yet another focus; the true soul of every event and our biggest supporters and inspiration … our community. We encourage you to meet thy neighbor this year, to take the extra time to look a passerby in the eyes and smile. Hug your friends and send air kisses to strangers. Don’t be afraid to open yourself to new people, possibilities, and ideas. Express yourself as freely as only you can allow.
Elysium Festival provides an atmosphere, mindfully created with intent to be conducive to our Philosophy that encourages the development and strengthening of long term relationships. We do this by setting the stage for face to face interaction, governed by sentiments of trust, co-operation, altruism and playful engagement.
Come celebrate with us on the weekend of July 16-18, 2010 and explore your diverse community and all the creativity that it inspires!
The event will be held at the same location as three previous years the La Jolla Indian Reservation.
Tickets will go on sale WEDNESDAY, APRIL 21, 2010.
We are looking forward to seeing you again or meeting you for the first time this year!
With lots of excitement,
The Elysium Team
